San Pedro may have some of the cheapest stays in all of Guatemala, but Panajachel isn't far behind. Pana boasts some hostels where one can stay for $4-5 a night, many of which feature hot water, laundry service, or even television. For a cheap night's stay, many choices await visitors to this beautiful lakeside town.

To call this cute and comfy hospedaje a bargain is an understatement. It'sconveniently located right in town, the beds are cozy, the shared bathrooms, and the whole place for that matter are very clean, the hot water is actually hot, and you can have as much or as little privacy as you'd like. It seems that half of the other guests are repeat-lodgers, who keep coming back to enjoy the tidy rooms, the lush interior patio garden, and the free water, coffee, and Q10 Gallos. If you don't mind being woken up in the morning by churchbells and you like sitting up on a rooftop terrace watching the sun rise or set over Lake Atitlan, then this could be the place for you.
